‘Tis the Season to be Jolly
As I reflect on the past year, I have so many reasons to be jolly. I was able to survive a bout with COVID-19, my kids stayed safe, and my business was allowed to operate during the pandemic. These are simple blessings not experienced by everyone this year. So, how do those people stay jolly during such a negative and trying time? I believe you can stay happy by keeping your faith. For me, it is a belief in God and His son, Jesus Christ.
Not everyone has a spiritual life, but they have faith in something or someone to help them through life’s most difficult seasons. Americans have always seemed to find a way to persevere amid all kinds of adversity. It could be the world wars we have survived over the past 100 years, or terrorist attacks of 9-11 and subsequent years that showed our courage.
I want to end the year on a positive note with a positive attitude for 2021 and beyond. Our rhetoric and negative speech must stop at some point. I pledge to make 2021 a year of optimism about the country and the world we live in. I am not going to keep talking about liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans as some kind of divide. I will look at our fellow men and women as people who God put on this earth to love and serve others first and foremost.
Please know this will be a challenge for me as well as for others who have lived the last year in turmoil. But we must change and take action in our company to really show our customers we care about more than their money.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
