I guess it seems like I say the same thing every January, like a broken record skipping once every twelve months. But, I’m talking to myself as much as to anyone else when I say this:
We’ve got to have a plan for 2026, and now is the time to put the hard work in on it. Why now? Because if we put it off until next month, then it’ll be next month and then the month after and then it will be summer before we know it – and nobody wants to work on goals in the summer. Especially not in the HVAC business!
Setting goals and expectations for the year isn’t that hard. Take a day or two with your leadership team. You may have to eat a little crow in the process, and you’ll definitely have to listen – carefully and closely – to what your team has to tell you. It’s also helpful to have a planning framework to build on.
