It’s easy to think that since school is starting back and football is here that cooler months are right around the corner. Think again!
Our summer or cooling season goes into October, and most large buildings and plants run cooling year-round. In fact, we have experienced some of the worst cooling breakdowns in December.
I say all that to remind our customers and prospects that HVAC equipment must be maintained year-round. We like to do heavy maintenance during the fall and spring but actually have specific tasks set up every month or week for some locations.
The moving parts in a mechanical system are numerous—think of it like a car engine running wide open for months at a time. It would be totally irresponsible to not maintain and check it often for premature breakdowns. In addition, the energy wasted during these times of pre-failure running is off the chart, too.
Am I fussing about this so I can make a few extra dollars as a provider? Not at all. Our model says let’s put money into planned maintenance so you won’t need to spend capital dollars on repairs.
Call us if you have any questions or want us to do an evaluation on your systems. You’ll learn a lot, even if you decide to keep taking a chance and crossing your fingers.
Godspeed,
Coach Cal
